Variegato Lombardo is an ancient technique from the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. Known since the 16th century, this technique is based on mixing and manual kneading of two clays of contrasting colours. Until the launch of the TERRA side table, Variegato Lombardo had never been used for furniture, reserved only to make floor tiles and crockery.
